History

After Major Croad's 1872 imports, British breeders in the 1890s selected for longer legs, tighter feathers and a higher stance to set the Langshan apart from the Black Cochin. The German Langshan developed along similar lines in the early 1900s. The breed was once fairly popular but has declined.

Appearance

Lighter and more game-like than the Croad, and sometimes compared to the Modern Game. The legs are only lightly feathered.
